The 3rd Annual Festival of Masks, in the vicinity of the historical and iconic Leimert Park, featured various local Artists including drummers, singers and dancers from the Diaspora and Africa. It commemorates the memory of African ancestors and was dedicated this year to the memory of Emmett Till (1941-1955). There were Mask-making workshops where both kids and adults were able to design their own masks and costumes to wear during the procession. Food and Art vendors were also present as well as Media including Wolof Times Reporters Sunny Moore and other KPFK radio personalities (See Top-Right picture). This Afrocentric Festival was a success and members of the local community seemed to rejoice during this event which they take to heart.
