The 22nd Panafrican Film Festival took place in Baldwin-Hills Crenshaw Plaza (Los Angeles) during Black History Month and featured a plethora of movies and documentaries from Africa and its Diaspora. The featured movies and documentaries touched most issues concerning the Black Experience ranging from Black History awareness, pre and post slavery political issues, Music, cultural similarities and exchanges between Africa and its Diaspora as well as modern issues related to crime, poverty and lifestyles such as Homosexuality. Movies and documentaries were played from morning until late evening. There were post discussions after every screening where movie-goers could interact with the film directors and actors. There were also after-parties featuring diverse music and Soul Food where movie-goers could interact and mingle with the stars. The Festival was a success and is much needed to educate old and new generations of people.
